HermesCraft — Local Minecraft Companion Setup

Free guide. For advanced modes, prompts, and skill authoring, see the advanced pack.

Requirements

  • Node.js 18 or newer
  • Python 3
  • Hermes CLI installed and authenticated
  • Minecraft Java Edition
  • Either a Paper server or a LAN world

Install

git clone https://github.com/SeanJ07/hermescraft.git
cd hermescraft
./setup.sh

Start one companion

cd hermescraft
./start-steve.sh

Enter your LAN world port when prompted.

If you don’t have the wrapper, launch direct using Hermes instead.

What to try first

Ask the bot to follow you, gather wood, or build a small shelter. Use the dashboard to watch status, inventory, and nearby entities.

Fair-play rules

Entities are filtered by line of sight and range. Sound is a directional hint, not exact coordinates. Resource finding prefers what is actually visible instead of omniscient scans.
