SHIMMER3_BATTERY_AND_CHARGING.md explains how the firmware measures and
classifies the battery, but not the cell being measured. Nothing in the
firmware holds a capacity - everything works in raw ADC counts and
millivolts - and it is the number any battery-life estimate divides into.
S3 400 mAh
S3, earlier units 450 mAh; the change came some years ago, because the
newer cell came with the certifications required
S3R 400 mAh
Added as an unnumbered "The cell" block before section 1, so no section
number or cross-reference moves. Documentation only.
