This Power BI report visualizes every shot Kobe Bryant took from the 1996 to 2016 seasons, presented through a dynamic scatterplot by area and shot type. This project demonstrates the power of data storytelling and visual creativity in Power BI, serving as both an analytical tool and a tribute to one of the greatest athletes of all time

In this project, I created a dynamic matrix visualization in Power BI to analyze and present complex data in an organized, actionable way. The matrix allows for easy comparison and analysis across multiple dimensions, helping users quickly identify trends, patterns, and insights.
The Matrix visual in Power BI is not just for displaying data, but it's a powerful tool for storytelling! Here’s what you can achieve with it:
🔢 Aggregate Data at multiple detail levels for deeper insights.
🎨 Incorporate SVGs, bars, or dynamic gradient backgrounds that change based on values, enhancing visual appeal.
📊 Create Comparisons and Rankings with interactive titles and subtitles that highlight key insights.
Using the same dataset, I developed three distinct reports, each with its own style, layout, and insights.📊
Each dashboard serves a different purpose, showing how data can be molded to meet specific business goals. 🎯
In these reports I appplied the common transformation in Power Query, while in Power BI I created DAX measures and calculated columns.
- Tables & Matrix: Used for displaying aggregated data, including heat maps and calendar matrices for quick data consultation and trend analysis.
- Bar & Column Charts: Ideal for category comparisons, including Top N analysis and date-based analysis.
- Scatter Chart: Employed to highlight outliers and correlations between variables.
- Line Chart: Utilized for time-based analysis, showing trends and changes over time.
- Cards: Designed for displaying key performance indicators (KPIs) in a clear, concise manner.
In this post, I explored advanced data visualization techniques to display dumbell chart.
- Line chart with labels managed with a dummy variable, ensuring label visibility
- Transformed line chart into a dumbbell chart by removing the line
- Added arrows using error bars
- Customized labels using error bars and an additional layer
This project is a Formula 1 data visualization built in Power BI, leveraging Power Query, DAX and SQL. Inspired by an F1 post on Instagram, I decided to scrape race data directly from the official F1 website, process it in Power BI, and create interactive visualizations. ( Linkedin Post )
