Maybe you can add a test for ULID because I had to change the setParameter from ->setParameter('user', $user) to ->setParameter('user', $user->getId(), 'ulid')

Code dosn't work for me without ->getId(). Maybe an issue in my own code, but I think adding a test for ULID would definitely worth it.

You just assume that id will be the identifier field name and this is bad.

    private function getIdentifier(object $user)
    {
        $meta = $this->getEntityManager()->getClassMetadata(get_class($user));
        return PropertyAccess::createPropertyAccessor()->getValue($user, $meta->getSingleIdentifierFieldName());
    }

then just

    $identifier = $this->getIdentifier($user);
    if ($identifier instanceof Ulid || $identifier instanceof Uuid) {
        $query->setParameter('user', $identifier->toBinary(), ParameterType::BINARY);
    } else {
        $query->setParameter('user', $user);
    }

I don't think we will have some updates on this particular PR, so I'd suggest if someone have ideas how to implement this feature then you are welcome to create another PR and go through review process.
