Template creation

Bloody Web+!!! see below... 😄

Gaahh... I accidentally hit 'Enter' after the header and I can't find any way of editing the (non-existent) text. Am I missing something?

Anyway, what I wanted to mention is that the Docs say that starting BeConverter should add appropriate templates automatically. That doesn't seem to happen. I had to create them manually.

Am I missing something?

The "..." to the left right of the smiley face (top-right of each "comment-box"). One click there opens a menu, with an "edit" item.

Edit: Can't see the smiley from Web+, but the "..." is still there :-D
Edit2: After login-in from Web+... the smiley shows up. Make sense, as you need to be logged in to use it for "reactions" :-D

Edit 3: to the RIGHT, a.k.a. "your other left" of the smiley.. :-D

@PeteCA:

Are you referring to the line Template which would have been installed with BeConverter. from Custom categories.htm?

If that's the case, makes sense, as that was most probably done by the software installer, and not when starting the app.

We don't have a .hkpg yet, but I'll keep the template installation in mind when working on the HaikuPorts ".recipe" (if units still use BFS attributes by then).

The docs will certainly need a "clean-up", specially regarding the mention to different versions of Tracker, and other "BeOS vs Haiku" actualizations :-)

Heh! WebPositive strikes again! For one thing, the "..." appears to the right of the smiley not left, and if I click it I just get "Quote Reply" and a never-ending 'spinner'! No 'Edit' item. I'll use Linux next time...

As for your reference to the docs, I think you're right. I read a little hastily.

Edit: OK, now I'm in Linux Firefox, and I have an "Edit" item! First I'll go back and fix my own typos!...OK -- things look a little less stupid now!

BTW About the first thing I did after cloning was to test the Installer (as provided) and it worked fine -- except that the resulting BeConverter failed as before (ran but "No Windows"). The recompiled version is working surprisingly well, except for some oddnesses with the GUI, that I'll detail later.

Sorry! I meant to the right, sigh... this COVID is making me dumber still :-(
