📥 How to install pixelproof on Windows

  1. Open your web browser and go to the download page linked above.
  2. Look for the file named like pixelproof-setup.exe or similar. This is the installer.
  3. Click on the file name to start the download. It may take a few minutes depending on your internet speed.
  4. Once the download finishes, find the file in your “Downloads” folder.
  5. Double-click the installer file to open it.
  6. Follow the on-screen steps:
    • Accept the license agreement.
    • Choose the folder where you want pixelproof installed (the default is fine).
    • Click “Install” to start.
  7. Wait while the installer copies the files.
  8. When it finishes, click “Finish.” pixelproof is now on your computer.

  1. Find the pixelproof icon on your Desktop or in your Start menu.
  2. Double-click it to open the app.
  3. You will see a simple window with a button to add an image.
  4. Click the button and browse to any photo you want to check.
  5. Select the file and wait a few seconds.
  6. pixelproof will show you if it found signs of editing or AI creation.
  7. It also lists details like image metadata and any hidden info detected.

🔍 What pixelproof looks for

pixelproof scans images for signs like these:

  • Inconsistent lighting or shadows
  • Sudden changes in pixels that don't match the rest of the image
  • Abnormal or missing EXIF data (details about when and how the photo was taken)
  • Patterns common in AI-generated images
  • Hidden messages or data embedded in the picture files

🛠️ Adjusting settings

You can change some options in pixelproof to fit your needs:

  • Choose which types of checks you want to run
  • Set how deep the scan goes, balancing speed vs. detail
  • Save reports with analysis results in simple text files
