Sleepy April stated that for any actual work on IPCs to be done, a design document had to be implemented first.

Okay, opened up this PR as a draft because I wanted to make sure I'm actually heading in the right direction

Brains: Positironics vs MMIs

The brain of an IPC, its central thinking core, is historically found in the torso. This allows an IPC to continue to move around even when beheaded, at the cost of losing their sensory mechanisms. The sprite for the positronic brain of an IPC might benefit from being different to a Borgs MMI, as to better signal to other players that it was an IPC that was gibbed, or to otherwise clearly display the two as different entities.

Honestly i dont think this needs to be a distinction, the thinking of borgs are limited by their chassis imposing laws on them, and they can think freely while outside of one, (even if many mannerisms carry over) so i don't see a reason why the brains need to be different between borgs and IPCs.

"## Reagents and Healing
Healing an IPC should primarily feel like Repairing or Debugging."

This does make me think: What if IPCs had to be re-constructed step by step for repairs, in the same way you would when constructing a mech (maybe with different steps based on the types of damage)
This allows for a unique scanner that medbay does not have access to, which encourages actually going to epi for repairs.
Also just read further, looks like you had a very similar idea

"However, as they have corruptible data, they should take a unique but somewhat equivalent Data damage, in the Genetics category."

Making a wholly separate category of damage for one species seems a bit bloat-y, maybe just renaming cellular to something more generic would be better.

The main thing for me is seeing if a brain is a Borg or a Roundstart Player Character really.

Maybe! It depends on things like what causes it but not genetic, who is affected by it, etc.
A rename works just as well though yeah
