Virtual Xbox controller sometimes doesn't work.

I am on CachyOS.

I really appreciate being able to create a virtual xbox controller for games that support the analog stick but sometimes I'll connect the controller and it won't send virtual xbox controller inputs even though keyboard and mouse inputs will work fine. Then I'll reconnect it and it'll work fine. It's kind of annoying having a lottery for whether it'll work or not.

Awesome still though. JSM on linux is very nice.

Can you show me if you can see "JSM Virtual Xbox Controller" when you cat /proc/bus/input/devices?

Some games might block input from 2 devices if one of them(Keyboard and mouse) was detected first or was in use.

Seems to happen more after I switch controllers.

The JSM virtual xbox controller will appear when I check the input devices but no inputs will trigger.

Does it show your virtual inputs in JSM terminal or not?

Yes it does, but the game won't pick them up.

Even if I disconnect keyboard and mouse the problem still happens from time to time. When I have some more time I'll try some other games and let you know. It's a minor annoyance of course, but still would be nice to deal with ;) Hopefully I can give you some more detailed info in the future.

I'll try releasing a version with better debug and log modes, until then, you'll have to deal with the little annoyance 😅. Hopefully, it won't take long though.

Have you tried using an online gamepad tester to see if the Virtual Controller is actually registering or not?

Was going to try that new release but the terminal now reads constantly:

"Cannot get finger state: Parameter 'finger' is invalid"

Not sure if this is a regression. Had some time to play with JSM again to test the controller issue, so shame that the newest release isn't working.

It's actually an RC(release candidate) i've been busy the last couple of months i couldn't tinker around with this much 😓

Hopefully new release is coming soon....
