The official Pi installer now installs 0.99.x, but the LMM wrappers stop after installation because they only admit 0.86/0.87. Remove that version gate and keep the official latest host installer.
Use the published alpha package only as the source-switching installer, then install the current GitHub provider from upstream main. Re-running the installer fetches later fixes without a wrapper release. This enables the repaired provider while npm publication is unavailable and preserves unrelated configured extensions.
Validation: Bash syntax, executable wrapper fixtures for Pi 0.87.1, 0.99.2, and future 1.2.0, plus isolated real Pi 0.99.2 Git-source installation and native registration. Existing cross-platform CI exercises the actual public installation entrypoints. Plugin fix: TokenNotIncluded/pi-lmm-provider#11.
