Exercise 20 Flask Postgre init db is not working

not creating version details - version folder is empty
flask db migrate giving following error:

I had the same problem. Here is a dump of the terminal output for the three flask commands.

I solved the problem by uninstalling psycopg2-binary :

pip uninstall psycopg2-binary

and then installing psycopg2:

pip install psycopg2

After this I had another problem. I was using an existing Postgres server that was listening at port 5434, not the default 5432. I had to modify the config.py file as follows:

class Config:
    DEBUG = True
    SQLALCHEMY_DATABASE_URI = 'postgresql+psycopg2://SteveD:petUEufj@localhost:5434/smilecook'
    SQLALCHEMY_TRACK_MODIFICATIONS = False

After this the 'flask db migrate' worked fine, as did 'flask db upgrade'.

I made experience with that too.
In this case you should use 2.8.6 instead of version 2.8.3. With that version its working like described.
