I'm a full-stack softwarte engineer with 12+ years of experience and a CS degree. Most recently I was CTO of Robotics 88 where I led a small remote team building real-time communication software for autonomous UAV systems. We got funding by NSF and NOAA and collaborated with Carnegie Mellon University doing research on 3D mapping forests.
After ten years in Austin, TX, I moved to Philadelphia. I've been working independently making software solutions for artists and creators with self-hosted servers. I love open-source tools, thinking in the long-term and using the right tool for the job.
Before Robotics 88, I spent four years as a lead instructor for General Assembly where I taught data science and full-stack web development. I gained a knack for explaining complex things clearly to people with minimal technical backgrounds.
When I'm not on the computer I'm fronting my band Astro Alloy. I've also gotten into building custom guitars and analog audio electronics.
My pronouns are they/them.
