I'm a software engineer with a background in structural biology - five years at the University of Groningen on LRRK2 (Parkinson's disease), several peer-reviewed publications, now three years building React/TypeScript applications profesionally. I'm interested in research software: tools, dashboards and data platforms that make science open, reproducible and actually usable.
After hours I'm playing (tt)RPGs with a bunch of nerds (they're the best), fostering a helpful community of people who learn to code on a private Discord server, reading fantasy novels, knitting (mostly socks, I can knit you a pair if you want), swimming in a lake, hiking in the nearby woods or playing with my three cats.
