Installation

1. Clone this repository to ~/.config/quickshell/
2. Run the installation script:

   cd ~/.config/quickshell/
   chmod +x install.sh
   ./install.sh

3. Copy your wallpapers to ~/wallpapers/
4. Reboot or log into Hyprland session

Pywal Theming

Pywal dynamically extracts colors from your current wallpaper to theme various applications. When a new wallpaper is selected, the after-wall.sh script triggers Pywal to generate a new color scheme which is then applied to the shell, terminal themes, and other compatible applications. The color scheme is stored in ~/.cache/wal/colors.json and persists across sessions.

The process works in this sequence:

1. User selects a wallpaper via QuickShell's wallpaper picker
2. after-wall.sh executes wal -i <wallpaper> to generate color scheme
3. Generated colors are stored in ~/.cache/wal/colors.json
4. QuickShell receives an IPC signal to reload the color scheme
5. All UI elements update to match the new colors
6. Terminal themes (Kitty, Alacritty) are automatically updated

Additionally, the color mode can be toggled between automatic detection, light, and dark themes using the toggle-colormode script, which maintains state in ~/.config/quickshell/state/colormode.
