NeutralNode is a decentralized application built on the Stacks blockchain that provides cryptographic verification of neutrality for critical infrastructure operators such as Content Delivery Networks (CDNs), Domain Name Systems (DNS), cloud providers, and internet service providers.
Today's digital infrastructure is largely centralized, with a handful of providers controlling critical services that billions rely on. This centralization creates risks:
- Service providers can discriminate between users without accountability
- Users have no way to verify they receive equal treatment
- Infrastructure providers lack a way to prove their neutrality to customers and regulators
- Network neutrality policies are difficult to enforce technically
NeutralNode creates a verifiable proof-of-neutrality system that:
- Allows infrastructure providers to cryptographically prove consistent behavior across all users
- Enables users to verify they receive the same service as others
- Creates auditable records of infrastructure neutrality anchored to Bitcoin
- Implements zero-knowledge proofs to maintain privacy while verifying behavior
- Zero-Knowledge Neutrality Proofs: Verify service consistency without exposing sensitive user data
- Bitcoin-anchored Attestations: Immutable records of neutrality leveraging Bitcoin's security
- Smart Contract Verification: Clarity contracts that validate provider neutrality
- Decentralized Audit System: Distributed network of verifiers that monitor infrastructure behavior
- Cryptographic Receipts: User-verifiable proofs of fair treatment
- Neutrality Score System: Public reputation metrics for infrastructure providers
NeutralNode leverages Stacks' unique features:
- Clarity Smart Contracts: Transparent, predictable code execution
- Bitcoin Settlement: Leveraging Bitcoin's security for immutable verification records
- Zero-Knowledge Proofs: Privacy-preserving verification of equal treatment
- Decentralized Storage: Distributed verification data storage
- sBTC Integration: Bitcoin-native operations for critical components
- CDN Neutrality: Proving content is delivered consistently to all users
- DNS Neutrality: Verifying DNS resolution is consistent globally
- API Service Fairness: Demonstrating API requests are handled equally
- Network Traffic Impartiality: Proving no traffic shaping or discrimination
- Cloud Resource Allocation: Verifying equal access to computing resources
- Node.js v16+
