…ic levels BREAKING: Major reduction in resource requirements Tier 1 (10-50 servers): - OLD: 2x servers, 24 vCPU, 128 GB RAM each = - NEW: 1x server, 8 vCPU, 32 GB RAM = (or reuse existing) Tier 2 (50-200 servers): - OLD: 3-4x servers, 40 vCPU, 384 GB RAM each = - NEW: 2x servers, 16 vCPU, 64 GB RAM each = -15k Tier 3 (200-1,000 servers): - OLD: 6-8x servers, 56 vCPU, 768 GB RAM each = - NEW: 3-4x servers, 16 vCPU, 32 GB RAM each = -30k Key changes: - Leverage existing file servers/NAS/SAN for storage - Removed unrealistic memory requirements (768 GB → 32 GB) - Removed dedicated file server VMs (use existing) - Updated break-even: 1-12 months (was 8-18 months) - Total cost range: -30k (was -225k) - Emphasis on reusing existing hardware Pro tip: Most orgs can run Tier 1-2 on existing spare server capacity at cost!
