Post-deploy migrated-volume validation could outlive discovery's caller deadline because it detached onto a fresh timeout. This bounds stable validation and emergency target stopping to the caller's absolute deadline while preserving fail-closed cleanup after cancellation when no deadline exists.
The regression coverage drives an unsafe target through normal stop, short stop, inspection, and kill fallback phases and verifies that no Docker command can outlive the caller deadline.
