Project Description

The project aims to create an Android application which allows users to walk in the Regie campus / Politehnica University premises with the phone camera on, and see augmented information superimposed on the image where buildings and other landmarks are automatically detected.

Users can also upload content to this platform by linking an off-line resource (one set of pictures corresponding to a resource) to some on-line resources via an RDF triple (see more about RDF at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Resource_Description_Framework).

The platform consists of two main modules:

• client-side Android app
• server-side app which stores the data uploaded by users, pictures, etc.

Main things which will be stored server-side will be images, places (GPS position, coordinate, associated images) and RDF triples between places and online resources.
