Summary

  • add Newsletter ContextVM podcast with gzuuus #14 for 2026-03-18 with reviewed project coverage, linked prior-issue callbacks, and two deep dives on NIP-94 and NIP-54
  • refresh the NIP-54 and NIP-94 topic pages to reflect the new deep dives and current spec state
  • add topic pages for NIP-43 and NIP-222 so all topic references in the issue resolve internally

Validation

  • build the site with hugo
  • run the AntiPatternScanner on content/en/newsletters/2026-03-18-newsletter.md
  • verify internal targets and external links across the newsletter and touched topic pages

@Datawav Datawav force-pushed the newsletter/2026-03-18 branch from 28d30f9 to 9d98f0e Compare March 18, 2026 12:45

Hey thanks for the nostrability/outbox inclusion. I would change two things:

  1. reiterate the key lessons
  1. Randomness > deterministic algos
  2. Add Thompson learning to increase coverage by ~~25%+ by learning and persisting which relays return useful info
  3. Nip-66 reduces latency by ~~40% in not checking for info from dead/offline relays

I would add / modify a bit to reflect that this is not just a theoretical exercise, but I have been submitting PRs for app devs and SDK devs consideration to reflect learnings & areas for improvement:

NDK nostr-dev-kit/ndk#387

Ditto Mew https://gitlab.com/soapbox-pub/ditto/-/merge_requests/18

Nostur nostur-com/nostur-ios-public#53

Amethyst vitorpamplona/amethyst#1833

rust-nostr rust-nostr/nostr#1282

welshman/coracle coracle-social/welshman#53

applesauce hzrd149/applesauce#55

applesauce hzrd149/applesauce#54

I have found each and every dev is different. PRs are a more practical way to share knowledge on aggregate, than referring someone to a github repo/docs/a website, as the knowledge is tailored to the respective dev/app/SDK.

If you have an outbox question, tag me on nostr https://npub.world/npub1zafcms4xya5ap9zr7xxr0jlrtrattwlesytn2s42030lzu0dwlzqpd26k5.

Addressed the latest review feedback in the draft: added clearer practical Outbox takeaways, linked the downstream implementation proposals called out in review, expanded the Nostria section with the requested recent features, and re-verified build/render/style. The branch is still a single clean commit after force-push.
