Back in summer 2026 I was hastly finishing my batchlor's thesis work. It was an exploration of how adaptive generative UI can counteract dark patterns and hostile UX design. Practically, it was a browser extension, benchmarked agains a tiny synthetic dataset, that could edit web pages from user requests (prompts). More importantly these edits were preserved between reloads of the page as they are basically a query selector + js logic pair that runs on every page load
It worked ok. It would hide elements, restyle pages to fit a theme (i loved the result when i asked it to make gmail minecraft-themed), change layout from a table to a lift of card or even add a random cat image. Overal it worked better then I expected
Now, I am rewriting and extending it work better and fit it's common use cases nicer. After all the prompt input box was temporary
Updates will follow
