Biome CLI v2.5.6

2.5.6

Patch Changes

  • #11035 0e4b03b Thanks @ematipico! - Fixed a performance regression in noMisusedPromises that caused type inference to run repeatedly while linting a file.

  • #11043 22ec076 Thanks @denbezrukov! - Fixed CSS formatting for multiline function arguments preceded by comments:

     .example {
       value: outer(
         1,
         /* comment */
         nested(
    -      first,
    -      second
    -    )
    +        first,
    +        second
    +      )
       );
     }
  • #11007 c9acb25 Thanks @BTF-Kabir-2020! - Fixed #9195: useHookAtTopLevel no longer reports hooks in named forwardRef components that receive a ref parameter.

  • #10152 50a9bd8 Thanks @Zelys-DFKH! - Fixed #10131: Biome now correctly parses curried arrow functions in ternary consequents when the inner arrow's parameters use a destructuring pattern, e.g. cond ? (x) => ({ a, b }) => body : alt.

  • #11105 8ffe2b9 Thanks @dadavidtseng! - Fixed #11092: The noUselessTernary quick fix now preserves operator spacing when simplifying or inverting boolean ternary expressions.

  • #10533 5809875 Thanks @Mokto! - Fixed #10515: biome check --write was not idempotent on Svelte files — multi-line template literals in <script> blocks and block comments in <style> blocks gained an extra indent level on every run.

  • #11040 0abb620 Thanks @Mokto! - Fixed an issue where the HTML formatter would duplicate a comment placed directly before a Svelte {@const ...} or {@debug ...} block. The duplication compounded on every subsequent --write, causing the file to grow exponentially.

  • #10858 6d18204 Thanks @ruidosujeira! - Fixed #10839: Svelte {#each} array destructuring no longer includes spaces inside square brackets, and multiline bind function expressions now indent their getter, setter, and function body correctly.

  • #11009 2c36626 Thanks @ematipico! - Improved the accuracy of type-aware lint rules by resolving more inferred types. For example, noFloatingPromises now detects floating Promises returned by aliased callbacks and arrays of Promises created by async mapping callbacks.

    The following statements are now reported:

    type AsyncCallback = () => Promise<void>;
    declare const callback: AsyncCallback;
    callback();
    [1, 2, 3].map(async (value) => value);

v1.62.1

Bug Fixes

  • #41989 [Regression]: tsconfig "extends" bare specifier isn't resolved via node_modules walk-up like tsc (fatal since 1.62)
  • #41998 [Regression]: directory-form tsconfig project references ("path": "../pkg") fail to resolve (fatal since 1.62)
  • #41985 Accessibility snapshot drops button name when text is nested inside spans with aria-hidden SVG
  • #42000 [Regression]: page.evaluate() arg of a branded primitive type (string & { brand }) no longer type-checks since 1.62
  • #42013 [BUG]Image-type actionable elements are not presented in the snapshot.

v1.62.0

🧱 New component testing model

Component testing moves to a stories and galleries model. A story wraps your component in one specific scenario — hard-coded props, mock data, providers — and a gallery page that you serve renders stories on demand. The new fixtures.mount() fixture navigates to the gallery, mounts a story by id, and returns a Locator scoped to the story's root element:

test('click should expand', async ({ mount }) => {
  const component = await mount('components/Expandable/Stateful');
  await component.getByRole('button').click();
  await expect(component.getByTestId('expanded')).toHaveValue('true');
});

Pass a story type as a template argument to type-check its props, and use update(props) / unmount() on the returned locator to re-render or tear down within a test.

🛑 Cancel operations with AbortSignal

Most operations and web-first assertions now accept a signal option that takes an AbortSignal, letting you cancel long-running actions, navigations, waits, and assertions:

const controller = new AbortController();
setTimeout(() => controller.abort(), 1000);
await page.getByRole('button', { name: 'Submit' }).click({ signal: controller.signal });
await expect(page.getByText('Done')).toBeVisible({ signal: controller.signal });

Providing a signal does not disable the default timeout; pass timeout: 0 to disable it.

🖼️ WebP screenshots

expect(page).toHaveScreenshot() and expect(locator).toHaveScreenshot() can now store snapshots in the WebP format — just give the snapshot a .webp name:

// Visual comparisons store the golden snapshot as lossless WebP.
await expect(page).toHaveScreenshot('homepage.webp');
// Standalone screenshots can trade quality for size with lossy WebP.
await page.screenshot({ path: 'homepage.webp', quality: 50 });
</tr></table>

Updates @tailwindcss/vite from 4.3.1 to 4.3.3

Release notes

Sourced from @tailwindcss/vite's releases.

v4.3.3

Fixed

  • Support --watch --poll[=ms] in @tailwindcss/cli when filesystem events are unreliable or unavailable (#20297)
  • Canonicalization: match arbitrary hex colors against theme colors case-insensitively (e.g. bg-[#fff] and bg-[#FFF]bg-white) (#20298)
  • Prevent Preflight from overriding Firefox's native iframe:focus-visible outline styles (#20292)
  • Ensure theme('colors.foo') in JS plugins resolves correctly when both --color-foo and --color-foo-bar exist (#20299)
  • Ensure fractional opacity modifiers work with named shadow sizes like shadow-sm/12.5, text-shadow-sm/12.5, drop-shadow-sm/12.5, and inset-shadow-sm/12.5 (#20302)
  • Parse selectors like [data-foo]div as two selectors instead of one (#20303)
  • Ensure @tailwindcss/postcss rebuilds when a preprocessor like Sass changes the input CSS without changing the input file on disk (#20310)
  • Ensure CSS nesting is handled even when Lightning CSS isn't run, such as in @tailwindcss/browser and Tailwind Play (#20124)
  • Prevent achromatic theme colors from shifting hue when mixed in polar color spaces like oklch (#20314)
  • Ensure --spacing(0) is optimized to 0px instead of 0 so it remains a <length> when used in calc(…) (#20319)
  • Load @parcel/watcher only when needed in @tailwindcss/cli --watch mode, so one-off builds and --watch --poll work when @parcel/watcher can't be loaded (#20325)
  • Use explicit platform fonts instead of system-ui and ui-sans-serif so CJK text respects the page's lang attribute on Windows (#20318)
  • Prevent @tailwindcss/upgrade from rewriting ignored files when run from a subdirectory (#20329)
  • Ensure earlier @source rules pointing to nested files are scanned when later @source rules point to files in parent folders (#20335)
  • Prevent @tailwindcss/vite from triggering full page reloads when scanned files are processed by Vite but haven't been loaded as modules yet (#20336)

v4.3.2

Fixed

  • Support bare spacing values for auto-rows-* and auto-cols-* utilities (e.g. auto-rows-12 and auto-cols-16) (#20229)
  • Prevent @tailwindcss/cli in --watch mode from crashing on Windows when @source points to a directory that doesn't exist (#20242)
  • Prevent @tailwindcss/vite from crashing in Deno v2.8.x when context.parentURL is not a valid URL (#20245)
  • Ensure @tailwindcss/cli in --watch mode rebuilds when the input CSS file changes in an ignored directory (#20246)
  • Allow @variant rules used in addBase(…) to use custom variants defined later (#20247)

Updates lint-staged from 17.0.8 to 17.3.0

Release notes

Sourced from lint-staged's releases.

v17.3.0

Minor Changes

  • #1825 16b3f74 - It is now possible to run multiple tasks in parallel for a single glob by configuring it with an array of tasks (which run sequentially), and then placing another array inside it (where the tasks will run in parallel). The following demonstrates the order tasks will start in:

    {
      "*.ts": ["first", "second", ["third", "third"], "fourth"]
    }

    As a concrete example, lint-staged's own configuration is:

    /** @type {import('./lib/index.js').Configuration} */
    export default {
      "*": [
        [
          "oxfmt --check --no-error-on-unmatched-pattern",
          "oxlint --no-error-on-unmatched-pattern",
        ],
      ],
      "*.ts": () => "tsc",
    };

    which means:

    1. for all staged files, run the two commands in parallel with staged filenames appended, for example:
      • oxfmt --check --no-error-on-unmatched-pattern lib/index.js
      • oxlint --no-error-on-unmatched-pattern lib/index.js
    2. additionally, if any *.ts files are staged, run tsc without appending any arguments
    3. The two sets of commands also run in parallel

Patch Changes

  • #1829 15f7e53 - During an in-progress merge, files that are unchanged from the branch being merged are now skipped. Technically, files are only included if there are staged changes against both HEAD and MERGE_HEAD.

v17.2.0

Minor Changes

  • #1823 ee156cc - The chunking of tasks based on maximum command line argument length has been re-implemented to be more precise. Now the chunking happens based on the final generated command string, instead of just the list of staged files like previously. This benefits mainly Windows platforms and function commands like:

    /** @type {import('lint-staged').Configuration} */
    export default {
      "*.ts": () => "tsc", // Run "tsc" when any TS file is changed (for entire project)
    };

... (truncated)

Changelog

Sourced from lint-staged's changelog.

17.3.0

Minor Changes

  • #1825 16b3f74 - It is now possible to run multiple tasks in parallel for a single glob by configuring it with an array of tasks (which run sequentially), and then placing another array inside it (where the tasks will run in parallel). The following demonstrates the order tasks will start in:

    {
      "*.ts": ["first", "second", ["third", "third"], "fourth"]
    }

    As a concrete example, lint-staged's own configuration is:

    /** @type {import('./lib/index.js').Configuration} */
    export default {
      "*": [
        [
          "oxfmt --check --no-error-on-unmatched-pattern",
          "oxlint --no-error-on-unmatched-pattern",
        ],
      ],
      "*.ts": () => "tsc",
    };

    which means:

    1. for all staged files, run the two commands in parallel with staged filenames appended, for example:
      • oxfmt --check --no-error-on-unmatched-pattern lib/index.js
      • oxlint --no-error-on-unmatched-pattern lib/index.js
