⚠️ This repository is actively evolving and continuously extended with new scenarios and improvements.
This repository contains a collection of practical cloud engineering implementations built on Yandex Cloud, covering real-world infrastructure, security, and platform design patterns.
The focus is on architecture, system design, and implementation decisions, rather than step-by-step tutorials.
The repository demonstrates hands-on experience with:
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC) — modular Terraform design
- Serverless architectures — event-driven pipelines and API layers
- Managed Kubernetes — cluster design, operations, and scaling
- Cloud networking — load balancing, segmentation, and fault tolerance
- Data platforms — PostgreSQL and ClickHouse in production-like setups
- Cloud security — IAM, KMS, TLS, VPN, and network isolation
- Observability — metrics, alerting, and monitoring pipelines
All scenarios are designed as independent but composable building blocks of a modern cloud platform.
- terraform/ — Modular Infrastructure as Code (VPC, VM, PostgreSQL)
- packer/ — Golden image build pipeline (Ubuntu + NGINX)
- k8s/ — Managed Kubernetes (cluster design, RBAC, networking, autoscaling)
- instance-group-and-load-balancer/ — Declarative HA deployment via Instance Groups
- high-availability/ — Failure handling across VM, zones, and application layers
- serverless-api-project/ — End-to-end serverless architecture (API Gateway + Functions + DB)
- async-file-analysis/ — Event-driven pipeline (Object Storage → Queue → Functions)
-
databases/
- ClickHouse analytics and ingestion patterns
- Managed PostgreSQL (HA + schema deployment)
-
object-storage/
- Immutable archive design
- Static website hosting
- docker-container-registry/ — Private registry, image lifecycle, VM boot from container
- packer/ — Reusable machine images
-
observability/
- Custom metrics collection
- Alerting (e.g., high traffic detection)
- Prometheus → Grafana integration
-
security/
- IAM — identities, roles, least privilege
- KMS — key lifecycle and encryption workflows
- Network security — segmentation and traffic control
- VPN — site-to-site secure connectivity (IPSec)
- TLS & certificates — HTTPS and secure endpoints
This repository follows several core principles:
- Modularity — reusable components (Terraform modules, service patterns)
- Isolation — clear separation of concerns between services and layers
- Security-first mindset — least privilege, encryption, network boundaries
- Failure awareness — high availability and fault-tolerant design
- Production-oriented thinking — realistic architectures instead of simplified demos
Some implementations are adapted and extended from official documentation and training materials, including Yandex Cloud resources.
However, all solutions were:
- reworked and redesigned
- deployed manually
- validated in a real cloud environment
The goal is not replication, but engineering interpretation and improvement.
Not all scenarios currently include diagrams or screenshots.
This is intentional at the current stage:
- priority is given to working infrastructure and reproducibility
- visuals are added progressively for complex flows (e.g., serverless pipelines, networking)
This repository represents engineering prototypes and reference implementations.
It does not aim to be a production-ready system, and may not include:
- full security hardening
- compliance configurations
- cost optimization for large-scale environments
- Architecture diagrams for key scenarios
- Expanded observability coverage
- Deeper Kubernetes operational cases
- Additional failure and chaos scenarios
