POKE Weather is a playful weather interface that turns a simple utility into a character-driven visual experience. The project is intentionally lightweight, but it tests how far tone, animation, and interface polish can carry a familiar data product.

- Animated weather states with a strong visual identity.
- A compact user flow for checking conditions quickly.
- AI-assisted interface generation and iteration.
- The line between novelty and practical utility in a small app.
- React and Vite frontend.
- Public weather/geocoding and Pokemon data APIs.
- Motion and lucide-react for animated UI details.
- html-to-image support for shareable visual output.
- No private API key or Gemini key is required for the live public demo.
This is a prototype source repo. It is best treated as a polished concept rather than a production weather service.
Production hardening would require accessibility pass, mobile layout testing, cache/error states, and clearer data-source attribution.
Prerequisite: Node.js.
- Install dependencies:
npm install - Run the app:
npm run dev
No Gemini key or private API key is required for the current public demo. Keep it that way: do not add private keys to browser-visible Vite environment variables.
This prototype was built with AI assistance. The useful signal is not just generated code; it is the taste decisions, product constraints, iteration, and cleanup needed to turn a quick concept into a coherent app.
