Caleb James Smith

Bonjour! I'm Caleb. 👋

I love solving hard problems, automating workflows, writing code, and debugging issues. I also enjoy creating data visualizations, finding patterns and anomalies, and gaining new insights from data.

  • I am a full-stack software engineer (work in progress).
  • I am currently learning full-stack software development through a 12-week training program at York Solutions.
  • The training program focuses on React/Next.js, Java, and SQL.
  • I am also taking Hardvard CS50 online through edX.

Particle Physics

  • My background is in experimental high-energy physics (aka particle physics).
  • I did physics research as a collaborator on the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) experiment at CERN for about ten years.
  • I received my PhD in Physics from Baylor and then worked as a postdoctoral researcher at KU.
