Chris Brock

CIO in Atlanta, and 25+ years in technology before and through that — infrastructure, security and compliance, development, ecommerce, and data. Mostly at companies where technology was underinvested and had to start carrying growth.

I publish what I've picked up doing that work. Some of it is code, some of it is a checklist, and a lot of it is just what I'd tell you if you called and asked. If any of it saves you a month, it did its job.

Projects

headcount — an agent organization for Claude Code, structured the way a company is. Departments install independently, agents own non-overlapping paths, and that split is enforced in CI rather than described in a README. Interactive org chart →

What I work on

Security and compliance programs built from nothing — SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA. AI and automation where the return is measured rather than asserted. IT turnarounds, and vendor arrangements nobody has looked at in years. Technology diligence and integration on acquisitions. Mostly the unglamorous plumbing that decides whether any of the rest of it works.

I'm not selling a methodology and I don't think there is one. Every company I've walked into has been broken in its own specific way.

Started building websites at twelve, in the mid-nineties, about WWF wrestling and Porsches I was never going to own. Everything about the technology has changed since then. The appeal hasn't.
