This needs to be rebased onto the upstream develop branch, including only the commits specific to the feature.
I use a local branch "up-develop" with remote set to upstream/develop.
I then pull up-develop, checkout the feature branch then do:
rebase --onto up-develop <commit before first feature commit>
You can cherry pick as well, if that's your preference. Just make sure the feature branch contains only relevant commits in the PR
