The study ranks workation destinations for German remote workers in three separate ways, because the best city depends on employment status: freelancers chasing adventure, value-maximisers, and employees restricted to the EU.
- Germany accounts for 52 % of all global "workation" searches, by far the largest share worldwide.
- There is no single best workation city. The top pick differs by traveller type: Bangkok (Adventure Seeker), Jaipur (Smart Spender) and Seville (Easy Mover / EU-only employees).
- Asia dominates the freelancer rankings, while EU/Southern Europe wins for employees bound by social-insurance and tax rules.

- Rankings weight climate, cost of living, flight prices, remote-work infrastructure, safety and (for employees) EU/EFTA membership differently per traveller type.
