Network (Layer 3)

The network is uni-directional from output ports to input ports. A single output port may be connected to 0 or more input ports. A single input port may be connected to 0 or 1 output port.

No acknowledgement mechanism is built into the connectivity, so an output port cannot guarantee that any message has been received by its destination.
