Preface

Before we start, I suppose a little introduction is an order. My name is David Huang I am an Economics/Data Consultant working in the Energy Sector.

Growing up I always have a talent of using the knowledge I learned. When I say using, I mean really squeezing out every once of the value they bring to me, regardless of how meaningless they are. So I like to pile up useless knowledge where ever I go.

Back in my university days, I used to dream of becoming a big name economist and for, a time being, actually think what I got what it takes for it. I think I have the smarts and the talent (I am super arrogant, I know) but the problem for me is always the "weakness of will". I have some of the most creative idea that I just set on and never materialise. I sometimes blame my ADHD for it or the lack of time or you know the thousand other excuse better men had tried and rationalise their failure with, but the fact remain -- most of my idea goes unmaterialise.

But recently I discover just how powerful AI is at making those idea a reality. So I decided to test the limits of AI by setting up this project for the weekend.

For context I have a bit of programming experience in Java, Python and Rust. I can pretty much come up with solution on the fly (duh, I am a consultant). Well, solutions that solve the problem but not necessarily the most eligant.

But this weekend I am going to do something different. I want to realise an ambition, a porject you may say, that sort of die away in my student days -- making a quality game. But to make this project even more interesting, I am going to programme it in a language which I have never tried before nor understand any of its syntax. But unlike the heros (and youtubers) before me, I am not going to try to learn the language. Instead, I am going to rely on my existing programming knowledge and intuition to come up with a design that Claude will implement for me (or codex if I used up all my tokens) and see how far I can push it.

I will log all my prompts and any textual response from claude and see how much of this project I can complete before 12:00 am Sunday.

For this project I chose to use Go for three reason: a. I havent touch this langauge before b. it has a funny logo c. maybe Google will hire me after seeing this project XD

Postface

So here we are, at the end of a three days journey. I lied a little, I didn't end up completing the task at 12:00 am. In fact, I am still sleeping at the time (what do you expect its sunday XD). The project is content complete on 00:45 AM 30.03.2026 (Monday) and because of my insomnia I went back to work on the final clean up around 02:00 AM or slightly earlier. I digress in less than 72 hours this is indeed some impressive work. I will probably write some detail afternotes in the morning but for now this will do.

Before I go, I just want to add a couple of disclaimer:

1. This repo is obviously AI generated, so please treat it more as an experiment than an art. I know how hard it is for indie dev to make a break these days and I don't want to take any of the glory away from these unsung hero, whose hand-crafted code is undoubtly why we can have high quality AI-based code today.
2. I try to be as careful as possible when adding my twist of political satire in the game but I used AI to scale a lot of the content so if you find some of the writing inappropriate or of bad taste do let me know, happy to review or remove them. I won't apologies for some of the edgy content I add in myself though XD, I feel like they are well balance and the shots I took are only towards those who are priviledge and controversial enough to take a joke on the chin.
3. One thing I am not so sure about is design of the character Ticky. I meant to design this character as a man but I think Claude turn her into a woman, don't think it makes a material difference though. I thought about removing some of the traits from her because people tend to demean and judge women much harsher than men. However, I don't feel like giving misogynists a free win by self-censoring myself because of their views. Still, if you think this character is genuinely harmful to the conversation on gender equality and stereotypes do let me know, I will see what I can do about it. She is a very interesting and funny villan though that I must say.
4. I detest stolen art. I try to make explicit instruction for Claude not to include any copy-righted work, but this is vibe coding and the codebase is gigantic so there might be a few misses. If your work is included by accident or without credit do let me know. I will remove them no question asked (well unless your claim to the work is false XD).

Anyways, I am going to sleep.
