The Updates page previously disabled its buttons without showing progress while an accepted request waited in the queue or verified its release. It now shows immediate button feedback and a persistent status panel covering preparation, installation, reconnection, failure, pause, and completion. During rollout, the current DSP and completed count stay visible; refreshing the page restores the worker's current status.

Known runtime-readiness and unsafe-backup failures now retain actionable public error codes. No release or installation behavior changes.

Validation: source/type checks, both dashboard builds, worker/API tests, and the updates browser suite. The new browser regression covers a delayed submission, queued/preparing states, reload, unavailable worker, per-DSP progress, pause, failure, completion, mobile layout, real spinner animation, and reduced-motion support. Browser plugin not available; used the repository's Playwright workflow with synthetic data.
