LoggingSeverity enumeration

Represents the severity of an individual log entry.

public enum LoggingSeverity

Values

name value description
Verbose 0 Detailed diagnostic or tracing information (lowest importance).
Info 1 General informational messages about normal application flow.
Warning 2 Non-critical issues, recoverable problems, or unexpected conditions.
Error 3 Errors or failures that prevent normal operation.
Critical 4 Severe failures requiring immediate attention (highest importance).

Remarks

Each log entry specifies a LoggingSeverity that reflects its importance or urgency. Whether the entry is actually written to the event log depends on the current LoggingLevel: only entries whose severity is greater than or equal to the active logging level are recorded.

The severity values are ordered from least to most important:

  • Verbose (0) – Detailed diagnostic or tracing information.
  • Info (1) – General informational messages about normal operation.
  • Warning (2) – Non-critical issues or unexpected conditions.
  • Error (3) – Failures or serious problems that need attention.
  • Critical (4) – Severe failures that require immediate action.
