EVPV-simulator

The open-source, open-data powered model for e-mobility planning

EVPV-simulator - Global README

The EVPV-Simulator (Electric Vehicles – PhotoVoltaics Simulator) is an open-source python tool to support electric vehicle planning studies in a given region of interest. The tool focuses on privately owned vehicles and is tailored to regions with scarce data. It enables endogenous simulation of commmuting patterns by leveraging open-source geospatial datasets, while estimating spatio-temporal EV charging needs and the potential for solar photovoltaic (PV) systems to meet those demands.

Feel free to pull, fork, use, and report any issues :)

  • evpv: the main python code
  • evpv-examples: example case studies for basic and advanced usage
  • evpv-tools: helper scripts for open-source geospatial data gathering from open street map, data pre-processing, etc.
