Bumps eslint-plugin-react-hooks from 5.2.0 to 7.1.1.

Release notes

Sourced from eslint-plugin-react-hooks's releases.

eslint-plugin-react-hooks@7.1.1 (April 17, 2026)

Note: 7.1.0 accidentally removed the component-hook-factories rule, causing errors for users who referenced it in their ESLint config. This is now fixed.

  • Add deprecated no-op component-hook-factories rule for backwards compatibility. (@mofeiZ in #36307)

eslint-plugin-react-hooks@7.1.0 (April 16, 2026)

This release adds ESLint v10 support, improves performance by skipping compilation for non-React files, and includes compiler lint improvements including better set-state-in-effect detection, improved ref validation, and more helpful error reporting.

Changelog

Sourced from eslint-plugin-react-hooks's changelog.

7.1.1

Note: 7.1.0 accidentally removed the component-hook-factories rule, causing errors for users who referenced it in their ESLint config. This is now fixed.

  • Add deprecated no-op component-hook-factories rule for backwards compatibility. (@mofeiZ in #36307)

7.1.0

This release adds ESLint v10 support, improves performance by skipping compilation for non-React files, and includes compiler lint improvements including better set-state-in-effect detection, improved ref validation, and more helpful error reporting.

7.0.1

  • Disallowed passing inline useEffectEvent values as JSX props to guard against accidental propagation. (#34820 by @jf-eirinha)
  • Switch to export = so eslint-plugin-react-hooks emits correct types for consumers in Node16 ESM projects. (#34949 by @karlhorky)
  • Tightened the typing of configs.flat so the configs export is always defined. (#34950 by @poteto)
  • Fix named import runtime errors. (#34951, #34953 by @karlhorky)

7.0.0

This release slims down presets to just 2 configurations (recommended and recommended-latest), and all compiler rules are enabled by default.

  • Breaking: Removed recommended-latest-legacy and flat/recommended configs. The plugin now provides recommended (legacy and flat configs with all recommended rules), and recommended-latest (legacy and flat configs with all recommended rules plus new bleeding edge experimental compiler rules). (@poteto in #34757)

6.1.1

Note: 6.1.0 accidentally allowed use of recommended without flat config, causing errors when used with ESLint v9's defineConfig() helper. This has been fixed in 6.1.1.

6.1.0

Note: Version 6.0.0 was mistakenly released and immediately deprecated and untagged on npm. This is the first official 6.x major release and includes breaking changes.

…found (#188)

Supersedes #180 (eslint), #182 (@eslint/js) and #179
(eslint-plugin-react-hooks). None of the three could merge alone:
@eslint/js 10 peer-depends on eslint ^10, so they move together.

Nothing else blocked them. typescript-eslint 8.67 already accepts
eslint ^10.0.0, and react-hooks 7 accepts it too, so the config needed no
changes. ESLint 10 wants Node ^20.19 || ^22.13 || >=24, which CI only
satisfies because of the Node 22 move in the previous commit.

`no-useless-assignment` is new in ESLint 10's recommended set and found two
real dead assignments, both the same shape:

    let next = current;
    switch (event.key) {
      case ...: next = ...; break; // every arm assigns
      default: return;               // or returns
    }

The seed value can never be read. Both are now declared without an
initialiser, so the compiler enforces "every path assigns or returns"
rather than a plausible-looking default hiding a missing case. tsc accepts
it, which is the proof that the property actually holds.

Verified the rule set still fires rather than trusting a green exit — a
throwaway probe file with a conditional hook, an `any`, and a bad
dependency array produced all three diagnostics:

  error    Unexpected any                          @typescript-eslint/no-explicit-any
  error React Hook "useState" is called conditionally react-hooks/rules-of-hooks
  warning useEffect has a missing dependency react-hooks/exhaustive-deps

Lint is 0 errors / 3 warnings, the same three pre-existing exhaustive-deps
warnings as before. 94 tests and the build pass.

Superseded by #188, merged as part of the combined ESLint 10 upgrade. @eslint/js 10 peer-depends on eslint@^10, so these three could not merge independently.

OK, I won't notify you again about this release, but will get in touch when a new version is available. If you'd rather skip all updates until the next major or minor version, let me know by commenting @dependabot ignore this major version or @dependabot ignore this minor version. You can also ignore all major, minor, or patch releases for a dependency by adding an ignore condition with the desired update_types to your config file.

If you change your mind, just re-open this PR and I'll resolve any conflicts on it.
