This page serves to answer the question of “Where is GoGo headed?”. Here is our timeline:
Version 1.0: GoGo will be basic and functional. Players should be able to log in, create characters, make channels, switch channels, create stages (with and without passwords), enter stages (including intrusion), leave stages, and battle in-game. Essentially, it will be a very basic MatchServer replacement with no frills. Planned release date: September 1, 2010
Version 2.0: Various speed improvements and frills that people felt like developing will be slotted for this release. Breaking changes will be allowed. Planned release date: January 1, 2011
Anything beyond this is hazy. Try again later ;)
Please note that in between each major release, there can be any number of minor releases. These minor releases are only for bugfixes. When a new bugfix version is released, the minor version number is incremented. Breaking changes are forbidden from these releases. The should be drop-in replacements for any version with the same major version number.
In addition, a planned release date is only that – planned. We are not guaranteeing anything. What if we all get hit by a bus on the same day? It’s possible!
