CMake 4 (released December 2024) removed support for
cmake_minimum_requiredversions below 3.5. This now causes the build to fail on environments with CMake 4.This PR updates the minimum required version from 2.8.7 to 3.5. CMake 3.5 was released in March 2016, so this change should not affect any reasonably modern build environment.
