During the envisionment phase of this project, my son Bakir asked me about my flagship software F18. I answered:
- "It works."
- "It is used by real users."
He was surprised and said: "That's it?! 'It works'?!"
I explained: "Yes, that is a really important characteristic of software. You can make beautiful software in the software lab. To provide that software to end users is a completely new endeavor! After 25 years of building software, I have learned to appreciate software which works."
We in Berlin were at that time. Later in the day, Bakir brought out the German word "sicher":
Because this word is also used in the Bosnian language (bos. ziher [germanizam]), it was love at first sight. That's the story of how it was named "Ziher".
