Overdue by 5 year(s)•Due by October 23, 2020•1/2 issues closed- map layouts A, B and C (A is the one already available) - random map layout generator (with varying types of balance restrictions) - change map size, changing deck sizes and farm numbers accordingly - play with dice instead of cards ### randomness in games ### some players don't like random elements, some players like random elements, and some lie in between. use a setting to specify different levels of randomness: - level 3: standard game, where what's random is only the order of the cards, but you still know how many there are - level 4: randomly generated maps can still make the game challenging while increasing replayability, but it might affect balance - level 5: using dice, we can't know for sure anymore how many cards will come, so definitely not fun for controlling players this reasoning allows for lower levels of randomness, where players have more control on the cards that come into play - level 0: no random factors at all, akin to chess and go; players could challenge one another by alternately choosing from available cards - level 1: players alternately choose from a reduced number of open cards (prevents analysis paralysis) - level 2: players alternately play the current card from their hands (hidden) - not _random_ per se, but still not to the taste of some players, but can be a good way to challenge other players
