🚨 Severity: CRITICAL
πŸ’‘ Vulnerability: A hardcoded secret token (xrpc-9f8e7d6c5b4a) was discovered in the Nginx configuration (server-php/config/conf.d/wordpress.conf) that acted as a backdoor to bypass the default block on the /xmlrpc.php endpoint.
🎯 Impact: Anyone with knowledge of this token could access the XML-RPC endpoint, which is a common vector for brute-force and DDoS attacks against WordPress instances. The token was embedded in a version-controlled file.
πŸ”§ Fix: Removed the conditional check for the hardcoded token and replaced the entire /xmlrpc.php location block with an unconditional deny all;. Also explicitly disabled access and not_found logs for this blocked endpoint to prevent log bloat.
βœ… Verification: Review the Nginx configuration changes to confirm that the location = /xmlrpc.php block contains only unconditional deny all; directives.
