Hi,
I've built a small feature in the simulator that would allow you to save and load afferent populations and stimuli from json files. This also allows you to edit the json file if you want slight changes to be made to either object.
This is something I've been using personally and thus I am sure it can be improved but I thought I should contribute it.
George
