The czech-file-knife product (the cfk-* Rust workspace, its Ada TUI, packaging, ops and docs) was developed here before hyperpolymath/czech-file-knife existed. It landed there verbatim from this repo's 70f4e1b in hyperpolymath/czech-file-knife#3 (squash 85506b8b), by the owner's 2026-10-09 ruling to extract it to a standalone repo. Removed: the 164 tracked files under czech-file-knife/. References updated so nothing points at the deleted tree: - .github/dependabot.yml: drop the /czech-file-knife cargo directory. - .hypatia-baseline.json: drop the 55 entries keyed on czech-file-knife/ paths (214 -> 159). Deleting baseline entries is debt reduction; no other entry changes (a jq round-trip of the base file is byte-identical). - stapeln.toml: drop the cfk-build and cfk-runtime layers and their four target references; the file-tools target keeps panoptes and displace. - TOPOLOGY.adoc, TEST-NEEDS.adoc, llm-warmup-dev.adoc: drop the czech-file-knife rows; the warm-up notes where it went. Left as they are: audits/assail-classifications.a2ml and audits/audit-ffi-2026-05-26.adoc are dated records of what was audited then, and .hypatia/scan-cache/fix-todo-markers.hashes is a cache last written 2026-03-14. Summary
This PR removes
czech-file-knife/from ambientops. The product now lives in its own repo, hyperpolymath/czech-file-knife. It landed there verbatim from this repo's70f4e1b801bc3d152e56cd6304d025ef736b3153in hyperpolymath/czech-file-knife#3, merged 2026-10-09 as squash85506b8b6af5389d271502f415ae838b608582cc.Authority: the owner's 2026-10-09 ruling on the empty/template-repo census, to extract czech-file-knife to a standalone repo and then remove it from ambientops in a separate PR. This is that separate PR.
Nothing is lost here. Every file is on czech-file-knife
mainand in this repo's history at70f4e1b8. The ambientops copy'sbuild/guix.scmdeclaredagpl3+; czech-file-knife kept its ownmpl2.0, which agrees with its Cargo.toml, LICENSE and README.Auto-merge is not armed. This repo's
mainhas no required status checks (the effective rules aredeletionandnon_fast_forwardonly), so arming would merge it instantly. It waits for a human merge. No issue to close.
Type of change
file-tools,development,productionandteststapeln targets no longer build acfkimage; czech-file-knife builds its own.📌 New pins
3b6e9566bc8b71031f16aa4c7187ad57e287b2f5uses:SHAs,actions.lockentries, lockfile records or container digests. (The deletedczech-file-knife/Cargo.lockand thecfk-*stapeln layers go with the tree.)Changes
czech-file-knife/..github/dependabot.yml: drop/czech-file-knifefrom the cargodirectorieslist..hypatia-baseline.json: drop the 55 entries whosefileis underczech-file-knife/(214 → 159). No other entry changes: ajq .round-trip of the base file is byte-identical, so the filter rewrote nothing else.stapeln.toml: drop thecfk-buildandcfk-runtimelayers (27 lines) and their 4 target references. Thefile-toolstarget keepspanoptes-runtimeanddisplace-runtime, and its description says where cfk went.TOPOLOGY.adoc,TEST-NEEDS.adoc,llm-warmup-dev.adoc: drop the czech-file-knife rows. The warm-up's workspace note now says where the cfk crates went.audits/assail-classifications.a2ml: A2ML is retired, so no.a2mlfile is edited.audits/audit-ffi-2026-05-26.adoc: a dated record of what was audited then..hypatia/scan-cache/fix-todo-markers.hashes: a cache last written 2026-03-14, already stale for many other files. Its 75 entries for czech-file-knife paths match no file now.How has this been verified?
The root Cargo workspace never listed
czech-file-knifeas a member or an exclude, socargoin the root is unaffected. No workflow under.github/workflows/references the path.Checklist
3b6e956isG.cargoover the remaining workspace, because no member or path dependency referenced the removed tree.Notes for reviewers
.hypatia-baseline.jsondiff is 330 lines of pure deletion. Each removed entry is keyed on aczech-file-knife/...path.mainwent red on its requiredscan / gitleaks. The scan flagged AWS's published documentation example key (AKIA…EXAMPLE) indocs/DISTRIBUTED_FILESYSTEMS.adoc. The fix is fix: green main after the ambientops landing (#3) czech-file-knife#4, and it does not block this PR. Removing the tree here also removes that file from ambientops' working tree.Deferred checks
None of these is required:
mainhas no required status checks. All three are red on this PR's base70f4e1b8as well, and none comes from the removed tree. Each is already tracked by an open issue:scan / gitleaks: deferred to scan / gitleaks fails on main (181076c), inherited by every PR #386.
