Owner

Send canonical ECHIDNA REST identifiers and GraphQL prover slugs, and honour the configured Codeberg/Forgejo origin. Every forge adapter shares checked clone/fetch/detached-checkout logic. Its TempDir owner keeps the checkout alive through proof processing and cleans up failed, completed and cancelled jobs.

Git clone, fetch and checkout share a two-minute deadline. Each child disables terminal prompts, has closed stdin and is killed on cancellation; timeout explicitly kills and reaps the direct child. This does not claim process-tree sandboxing. Complete descriptor paths and repair the root Justfile so it parses.

Require protocol, exact-revision clone and Git process-lifecycle contracts. Enable the Rust dependency audit and patch vulnerable h2. Isolate lifecycle environment tests in child processes. Repair the real Solidity fuzz workflow with checksummed native tools, explicit compiler selection, corrected properties and propagated failures. Build docs with pinned Casket source and a fixed Cabal index state. Grant governance the read-only Actions permission required by its pinned reusable workflow.

Validation: three protocol contracts, the local-forge clone contract, two Git timeout/cancellation tests, 23 lifecycle tests, Justfile parsing and all-target Clippy passed locally. Solidity property fuzzing passed 10,000 iterations and assertion fuzzing 30,000; both passed CI. All checks observed on 37abc9c completed successfully or were intentionally skipped. This does not establish exhaustive backend coverage or a passing unfiltered library suite.

Review disposition: CodeRabbit's latest review of 37abc9c (run 7d1cd9e0-fdb7-49cc-a2e3-a477f973d053, recorded in issue comment 5563760434) reports no actionable findings and explicitly accepts the Git lifecycle and metadata fixes. The remaining STATE thread is addressed; the test/proof checkout steps disable credential persistence. The requests to replace version tags misunderstand GitHub's runtime-enforced actions.lock, which is present and passes the authoritative validator. Superseded requested-change reviews are being retired using this evidence, with required checks and normal merge policy retained. This records review disposition, not a fabricated approval.

The validator binary is checked by SHA-256. Actions use GitHub's runtime-enforced lockfile: https://github.com/github/gh-actions-lock#how-it-works

📝 Summary

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Bug Fixes

    • Improved prover identification for Lean, Isabelle and HOL Light across REST and GraphQL interactions.
    • Proof verification now distinguishes accepted and rejected results more reliably.
    • Repository cloning now checks out requested revisions explicitly and reports unavailable repositories or revisions more clearly.
    • Temporary repository checkouts are cleaned up automatically.
  • Tests

    • Added protocol coverage for prover status, verification and tactic suggestions.
    • Added checks for exact-revision cloning and detection of admitted or incomplete Coq and Lean proofs.
    • Added proof-safety checks to continuous integration.
  • Documentation

    • Updated configuration guidance to avoid embedding credential examples.

Walkthrough

The changes update prover identifiers, enforce exact-revision cloning, add proof and protocol contract tests, introduce proof-safety automation, revise CI workflows, relocate machine-readable descriptors, and remove literal credential examples.

Changes

Runtime safety and contract validation

Layer / File(s) Summary
Protocol identifiers and exact-revision cloning
src/dispatcher/echidna_client.rs, src/adapters/*, src/main.rs
Protocol requests use canonical prover identifiers. Shared cloning fetches exact revisions and owns temporary checkout cleanup.
Proof and protocol contract tests
tests/protocol_contract.rs, proofs/*
Tests detect admitted Coq and Lean proofs and verify REST and GraphQL protocol responses.
Echidna and lifecycle contract behaviour
contracts/TokenEchidnaTest.sol, echidna/*, tests/lifecycle.rs
Echidna fixtures validate token and assertion behaviour. Lifecycle tests isolate environment-dependent timeout checks.

CI workflow changes

Layer / File(s) Summary
Proof safety workflow
.github/workflows/proof-safety.yml
A read-only workflow runs locked protocol and clone contract tests on pull requests and pushes to main.
Workflow action and build updates
.github/workflows/*
Workflows add lock-management markers, update action references, revise build pipelines, enable audit coverage, and validate action locking.

Machine-readable metadata relocation

Layer / File(s) Summary
Descriptor structure and manifests
.machine_readable/descriptiles/*
The descriptor directory adds manifests, metadata files, state records, anchor descriptors, and documentation.
Descriptor path references
.machine_readable/contractiles/*, 0-AI-MANIFEST.a2ml, *.adoc, .github/workflows/openssf-compliance.yml
Validation, guidance, compliance, and workflow references use the relocated descriptor paths.

Configuration and documentation safety

Layer / File(s) Summary
Credential placeholder cleanup
docs/content/api.adoc, echidnabot*.toml, src/config.rs
Examples use empty placeholders and local credential-store instructions instead of literal credentials.

Estimated code review effort: 4 (Complex) | ~60 minutes

Merge Risk: 🟡 Moderate · up to 37abc

This change updates runtime safety, CI, and repository metadata, but unresolved workflow supply-chain controls and machine-readable descriptor inconsistencies can weaken automation integrity, validation, and operational guidance. Resolve these issues before merge.

Poem

A rabbit checks each prover name,
Then pins the revision all the same.
Proof fixtures mark the unsafe trail,
While workflow checks report or fail,
Metadata hops to its new lane.

66-66: 🎯 Functional Correctness

Keep isabelle as the GraphQL fixture slug.

ProverKind is ProverSlug, whose derived Debug output is ProverSlug("isabelle"). The previous conversion therefore produced proverslug("isabelle"), not "isabelle". The assertion already detects the previous conversion.

Inline comments:
In @.github/workflows/casket-pages.yml:
- Around line 44-46: Update the workflow’s Cabal build step to avoid
nondeterministic dependency resolution: remove the standalone cabal update or
configure Cabal with a fixed index-state before cabal build. Keep the existing
build behavior and use the repository’s established Cabal configuration if one
exists.

In @.github/workflows/docs.yml:
- Line 29: Update every action reference in .github/workflows/docs.yml at lines
29, 31, 38, 43, 78, and 92, and .github/workflows/echidna-fuzz.yml at lines 114,
155, 157, 286, 292, 312, 314, and 378 to verified 40-character immutable commit
SHAs, then regenerate .github/workflows/actions.lock.

In @.github/workflows/e2e.yml:
- Line 54: Replace every affected version-tagged action reference with the
matching full commit SHA recorded in .github/workflows/actions.lock. Apply this
to .github/workflows/e2e.yml lines 54 and 64, .github/workflows/echidnabot.yml
lines 64, 93, 113, 138, and 158, and .github/workflows/openssf-compliance.yml
line 21; do not modify the lock file.
- Line 54: Disable checkout credential persistence by setting
persist-credentials to false on the checkout steps in .github/workflows/e2e.yml
lines 54-54 and .github/workflows/echidnabot.yml lines 93-93, 113-113, 138-138,
and 158-158. The detection step in .github/workflows/echidnabot.yml lines 64-64
requires no change.

In @.github/workflows/workflow-linter.yml:
- Line 47: Remove the extra blank line at the end of the workflow so the YAML
linter’s permitted blank-line limit is satisfied, without changing any workflow
configuration.
- Line 45: Update the gh extension install step for github/gh-actions-lock to
use an audited immutable commit SHA instead of the mutable v0.1.6 release tag,
preserving the existing installation behavior.

In @.machine_readable/contractiles/Mustfile.a2ml:
- Line 71: Update the anchors-directory check in the must check contract to test
.machine_readable/descriptiles/anchor instead of the plural anchors path,
matching the directory used by the new anchor descriptors.
- Line 66: Complete the descriptor-path migration: in
.machine_readable/contractiles/Mustfile.a2ml lines 66-66, update the executable
checks and corresponding .machine_readable/contractiles/Justfile lines 550-559
plus its template-marker check at line 89 to use .machine_readable/descriptiles
paths, or preserve tested compatibility files. In RSR_OUTLINE.adoc line 178,
update the directory tree from .machine_readable/6a2/ to
.machine_readable/descriptiles/ and document anchor/.

In @.machine_readable/descriptiles/0-AI-MANIFEST.a2ml:
- Line 1: Add the SPDX-License-Identifier header within the first 10 lines of
the manifest, matching the license identifier used by sibling A2ML descriptors.
- Around line 25-30: Update the concurrent-write protocol in the A2ML manifest
to require exclusive atomic lock-file creation that fails when the lock already
exists, define stale-lock detection and recovery for crashed writers, and
validate the current working-tree file content—not only git-sha-at-read versus
HEAD—before committing updates; preserve the existing read, write, and release
sequence.

In @.machine_readable/descriptiles/anchor/0-AI-MANIFEST.a2ml:
- Line 1: Add the applicable SPDX-License-Identifier header within the first ten
lines of the A2ML manifest, before the existing “AI Manifest for Anchor
Directory” content, without changing the manifest’s remaining content.

In @.machine_readable/descriptiles/ECOSYSTEM.a2ml:
- Around line 11-15: Populate the canonical metadata fields purpose, role, and
position-in-ecosystem.category with valid ecosystem values, or use the
schema-approved not-applicable value where appropriate; do not leave any of
these fields empty.

In @.machine_readable/descriptiles/META.a2ml:
- Around line 40-49: Synchronize the MCP exception metadata with the retired
state: in .machine_readable/descriptiles/META.a2ml lines 40-49, mark ADR-001
superseded; in .machine_readable/descriptiles/anchor/ANCHOR.a2ml lines 35-42,
replace the completed sunset trigger with current BoJ-routed guidance; and in
.claude/CLAUDE.md line 144, update the assistant instruction so the retired
exception is not presented as active.

In @.machine_readable/descriptiles/PLAYBOOK.a2ml:
- Line 14: Update both references to STATE.a2ml in PLAYBOOK.a2ml, replacing the
outdated .machine_readable/STATE.a2ml path with
.machine_readable/descriptiles/STATE.a2ml while preserving the surrounding
incident and release instructions.

In @.machine_readable/descriptiles/README.adoc:
- Line 5: Complete the descriptor relocation: in
.machine_readable/contractiles/Mustfile.a2ml, replace the legacy
.machine_readable/6a2 and anchors/ references with descriptiles/ and anchor/; in
.machine_readable/descriptiles/PLAYBOOK.a2ml lines 14-20, update both STATE.a2ml
references to .machine_readable/descriptiles/STATE.a2ml.

In @.machine_readable/descriptiles/STATE.a2ml:
- Line 443: Correct the test-count summary in the session entry so the listed
suite counts reconcile with the reported total of 184: use disjoint counts that
sum to 184, or explicitly identify overlapping categories and provide the
accurate aggregate.

In `@docs/content/api.adoc`:
- Line 113: Update the GraphQL mutation example around the webhookSecret
variable so it is executable: either add a variables payload supplying
webhookSecret, or remove the required variable and field for the optional
no-secret case. Apply the same correction to the corresponding example at the
other referenced occurrence.

In `@echidnabot.example.toml`:
- Line 41: Replace the credential-shaped GitHub token examples at
echidnabot.example.toml lines 41 and 82 and echidnabot.toml line 56 with
non-secret placeholders; use a local credential-store instruction at the first
site and non-secret environment-override placeholders at the other two,
preserving the surrounding configuration keys.

In `@EXPLAINME.adoc`:
- Line 147: Update the referenced exceptions.boj-only-mcp section in
EXPLAINME.adoc to state that the carve-out is historical and inactive, removing
the wording that presents it as currently available or ending only when BoJ
supports the protocol.

21-21: 🔒 Security & Privacy

Keep the managed action references unchanged.

casket-pages.yml is onboarded to gh-actions-lock. .github/workflows/actions.lock records an exact commit for each action, and the lock tool guarantees that the locked commit runs. The version tags in the workflow are therefore expected and do not indicate an unlocked dependency.

27-27: 🔒 Security & Privacy

Keep the current action references.

gh-actions-lock deliberately retains branch and version refs in workflow files. It maps them to verified commit SHAs and does not re-resolve them during normal runs. .github/workflows/actions.lock covers every cited workflow, so the absence of a 40-character SHA in the workflow text is not a defect.

No lockfile change is needed.

gh-actions-lock canonicalises action dependency keys to lower case. The Swatinem/rust-cache@v2.9.2 references therefore match the existing swatinem/rust-cache@v2.9.2 lock entries.

Make the concurrent-write protocol exclusive.

Creating .lock-<FILENAME> is not exclusive unless the writer uses an atomic create that fails when the path already exists. Without that guarantee, two agents can both write. Comparing git-sha-at-read with HEAD also misses uncommitted working-tree changes, and a crashed writer can leave a stale lock. Specify atomic acquisition, stale-lock recovery, and a working-tree content check.

Add the required SPDX header.

The A2ML manifest has no SPDX-License-Identifier in its first ten lines. Add the applicable SPDX header before the manifest content so the A2ML validation check passes.

It maps them to verified commit SHAs and does not re-resolve them during normal runs. .github/workflows/actions.lock covers every cited workflow, so the absence of a 40-character SHA in the workflow text is not a defect.

hyperpolymath dismissed coderabbitai[bot]’s stale review September 7, 2026 08:05

Superseded: CodeRabbit reviewed current head 37abc9c in run 7d1cd9e0-fdb7-49cc-a2e3-a477f973d053 and reported no actionable findings (issue comment 5563760434). Git process bounds and STATE paths are fixed and tested; all 19 exact-head workflows pass or intentionally skip. Required CI and normal branch policy are retained.
