The estate canonical location is .github/CONTRIBUTING.md, which GitHub auto-discovers; the root copy is removed and every reference to it is updated in the same change (relative depths adjusted for each file's location). Regenerated against current main: the original patch carried the removed file with full context, which had drifted, so the intent was reapplied directly.
