The red devrc-pytests was not the 60 s flake — it was test_a_stall_in_the_FSYNC_region_is_NAMED, test(store-api): the CI hang is a 60s READ timeout, not an RST — the backlog elimination is re-made on a connection count, and fetch now names the mechanism #1172's own reporter guard, racing a CLIENT_BOUND = 0.25 s against the real os.fsync that runs before the monkeypatched _fsync_dir. Measured 4 red / 19 completed runs (21%), greens controlled (identical collected=20076, 0 MECHANISM lines). Its devrc-side fix fix(store-api): the hang guard SAMPLED its own arming instead of waiting for it — CI scheduling failed it, not the code #1193 merged mid-session → 48a5540e, confirmed by content.

Durable content carried forward, not dropped

The write gate flagged rank 8's live-verification evidence as sitting under a REPLACE heading. It is now preserved under ## Gotchas (which appends), with the before/after probe output intact — the same class of fix this doc already records twice.
