Is this website the official website for Volume2? #384
|
Hello, I couldn't find any links to the GitHub project on this website, and I also didn't find this website's address in the "Contacts" section on GitHub. However, when I searched for the Volume2 software, this website appeared at the top of the results. The download program on this website is also different from the one on GitHub. So, I'd like to ask: Is this website actually the official website for Volume2? And is the program downloaded from this website safe to use? |

Yes, I am aware of that. So, are you confirming that https://www.volume2.org is not the official website? |
|
Yes, it is not related to me. |

Thank you for the confirmation. This makes the website seem highly suspicious, and the downloaded program from it is potentially unsafe. What's important is that if the program on this site is indeed malicious, it is misusing your software's name. This could not only harm the reputation of your software but also mislead many users into downloading an unsafe program. Therefore, could you please test the downloaded program from that website? My internet connection isn't great, and I'm having some issues testing the software myself. |
Okay, the issue is completely resolved. My friend helped me send the file of the downloader program to an expert at Kaspersky. After analysis, the expert confirmed that the file is not a virus, but falls into the category of a "downloader". It's a legitimate program that could potentially be exploited by attackers to damage computers or personal data. |
