Unable to run with a non-git flake-dir

Trying to configure labcoat to work with my setup, but when I try it with my flake-dir I get an error message about it not being a git repository
I use JuJutsu instead of git as my personal preference, and don't have it setup with a git folder inside of the flake-dir.

Is there a way to bypass this requirement, change it to accept other Version Control Systems, or to directly use the remote repository hosted on github (or gitea/some other git hosting platform) rather than using the local copy?

I think we can just disable the git related features if no git repo is found, it's only used to provide a hint as to how behind the deployed config is on a particular host -- pointing at the remote repo wouldn't work for that.
