Donuts is being used by enough people now that we need to start supporting the package properly. The plan in 2016 was to make it an astropy affiliated package. That kind of fell through and we stopped developing ideas. Bit rot ensued. I want to repackage donuts as its own stand alone package and remove all references to astropy's build processes. This will simplify things and make it easier to support. Tasks in this milestone will cover the following main goals: 1. Repackaging of donuts 1. Updating documentation to cover new features 1. Fix documentation building 1. Update test cases to cover new features 1. Fix CI 1. Change numpy arrays to numpy masked arrays throughout to allow for masking if requested. 1. Create the first proper release of donuts on github and pypi
