Dartec icon and logo for the integration in Home Assistant - #41

Home Assistant 2026.3 and later reads custom_components/<domain>/brand/ ahead of the brands CDN, so the integration now shows the Dartec mark instead of a placeholder. Light and dark variants at 1x and 2x, at the brands repository's sizes. The live test asks Home Assistant for each image through its brands proxy and compares it with the repository's file. HACS still shows a blank icon until it reads local brand images (hacs/integration#5171).

The integration showed Home Assistant's icon not available placeholder everywhere a customer sees it. It now shows the Dartec mark.
What controls the icon
custom_components/dartec_ha_manager/brand/. HA reads it ahead of thehome-assistant/brandsCDN and serves it through its own/api/brands/integration/<domain>/<image>proxy (developer blog, 2026-02-24). No submission tohome-assistant/brandsis needed for this; that repository now calls the custom integration route legacy. Every home runs 2026.9.x. Older versions ignore the folder.home-assistant/brands. Local brand images are an open issue (hacs/integration#5171), with fixes not yet merged (Add repository brand icon endpoint hacs/integration#5388, Use authenticated brands proxy for repository icons hacs/frontend#937). So HACS shows a blank icon for now. HACS does not use the GitHub social preview either. The images
icon.png/dark_icon.png(256, and 512 as@2x) are the mark;logo.png/dark_logo.png(128 tall, and 256 as@2x) the lockup, on transparent in the brand's fixed light and dark colours. Rendered byscripts/brand/build-icons.mjsin the onboarding repository from the brand's own SVGs, with the wordmark in embedded IBM Plex.Proof, in a real Home Assistant 2026.9.2
From the live test's container (
run_live.py 2026.9.2 --keep), signed in as itslivetestuser the wayhousehold_screenshots.pydoes. The Dartec live-test canary beside it has no brand folder and shows the placeholder customers saw until now.The live test now also asks HA for each of the eight images through the brands proxy and compares the bytes with the repository's file (skipped below 2026.3). Locally: brand images served by Home Assistant: ok, passed in 81s.
