Manaskushartha

• "Manas" — which points to the Ramcharitmanas.
• "Kush" — that's me, my pen name.
• "Artha" — which means "meaning."

So, broadly speaking, it translates to "The meaning of the Ramcharitmanas, as explored by Kush."

Manaskushartha is a personal translation, exploration, and deep-dive into the 16th-century epic poem, Ramcharitmanas, authored by Goswami Tulsidas.

Unlike most English translations that focus entirely on summarizing the plot, this project focuses on the poetry. The Ramcharitmanas is read not just to know what happens next, but to play with the words, have fun with the grammar, and feel the rhythm. This project presents a word-for-word, literal meaning, along with notes on literary devices, rhyme schemes, and Awadhi grammar.

Project Structure

• manas/: Contains the actual translation exploration, organized linearly through the seven Kandas (books).
• src/: Custom React components and pages.
• docusaurus.config.ts: Main project configuration for the Docusaurus site.

Getting Started

To run the site locally:

pnpm install
