Summary

  • replace the compressed mobile calendar grid with four server-rendered upcoming-event cards
  • retain the detailed calendar at tablet and desktop widths
  • add RSVP counts and validated Maps links to the hero event card
  • share ongoing-event timing across event selection, the hero, mobile cards, and the desktop calendar
  • update live labels in place with a small time-aware script and no hydrated event application
  • localize the new mobile experience in English and Japanese

User impact

Mobile visitors can now find and RSVP for upcoming events without horizontally panning a seven-column calendar. Existing members retain the full desktop calendar, while event details and live-state behavior stay consistent across the homepage.

Verification

  • npm run check
  • npm run build using temporary feed/event cache outputs
  • English and Japanese browser QA at 320px and 390px
  • breakpoint verification at 767px and 768px
  • desktop verification at 1440px
  • no horizontal overflow at 320px or 390px
  • hero RSVP and Maps accessibility labels verified
  • no browser console errors
