Summary

  • 23 L4 chapters written at textbook density (~2,500-3,500 words each), totaling ~62,800 words
  • Each chapter honors the exact Next: [L4 — X] pointer committed in Phase 2H L3 bridges
  • Evidence Tier: Textbook for all; SCOPE NOTE continued for HA_gender_sexuality
  • All chapters close with an L5 transition pointer (deferred)

Coverage

Section 9 — Earth Systems: Climate Impacts & Adaptation, Geohazards & Resources, Ocean Resources & Impacts, Regional Development, Water Resource Management

Section 10 — Material World: Advanced Materials, Automation & Digital Manufacturing, Agricultural Biotechnology & Future of Food, Decarbonization Pathways, Mobility Futures

Section 11 — Applied Sciences: Medical Specialties & Emerging Therapies, Global Health & Pandemic Preparedness, International & Comparative Law, Learning Science & Higher Education

Section 12 — Human Life: Homeostasis & Aging, Adolescence, Gender in Society (SCOPE), Meaning & Philosophy of Death

Section 13 — Engineering: Machine Design & Manufacturing, Electronics & Signal Processing, Urban Planning & Sustainable Cities, Aviation Safety & Air Traffic, Specialty Chemicals & Biotechnology

Approach notes

  • Factual framing on contested topics (GLP-1 RAs, MAID, gender-affirming care for minors, deep-sea mining, geoengineering, Alzheimer's anti-amyloid antibodies, CRISPR germline, alt proteins economics, ADHD, abortion access, AV safety, 737 MAX, 15-minute city conspiracy narratives, PFAS phaseouts)
  • Each L4 is denser than the Phase 2H L3 bridge per the Phase 2I mandate
  • L0-L4 depth ladder is now complete across 23 HA books in sections 9-13
  • L5 remains deferred across all 23

Test plan

  • Spot-check `Next:` pointer continuity L3 → L4 (all 23)
  • Confirm SCOPE NOTE preserved in `12_human_life/HA_gender_sexuality/L4_Gender_in_Society.md`
  • Confirm `<!-- Evidence Tier: Textbook -->` header on all 23 files
  • Merge when reviewed

Section 12 (Human Life): Homeostasis & Aging, Adolescence, Gender in

P2 Badge Use cross-disciplinary tier for this L4 gender chapter

The front-matter marks this chapter as Textbook, but this HA’s contract defines L4-L7 as Cross-disciplinary (see HA_gender_sexuality_Index.md header/table), and the chapter itself explicitly treats contested social and policy questions. Keeping Textbook here will cause tier-based consumers (including translation/review workflows that preserve Evidence Tier markers) to misclassify debated claims as settled, which undermines the repo’s tier-discipline rules.
